Dear Mariano,

Today I read your message from 30 April. Begin 15 April I have holiday for two years (almost four months). I waited a long time any information from you and 28 April go away to my village and only yesterday returned (very much rural work).

I’m very sorry that we have not clear (probably negative) perspective about continue of our co-operation but it is independent from our. I send to you my IA-96-03 financial report (see lower). As you see we complied the HW and SW purchasing and expensed practically all received money. All instruments are installed, setting and stay in good working condition (tuk, tuk for put not the evil eye on).

Thus, we have of full value three working places for digitizing of seismograms:

(1) Sun Ultra 60 Model 1360, 360 MHz, 512 Mb RAM, 9,1 Hb uw SCSI HD, Creator 3D Graphic, SunCD 12 internal CD-ROM Drive, Ethernet 100Base-TX Plate, 3,5’’FD, 8-port 100Base-TX Unmanager Repeater, Sun 24’’ wide screen color Monitor, OS Solaris 2.6 SPARC Platform Edition;

(2) PC Intel Pentium II, 400 MHz, 256 Mb RAM, 18,1 Hb uw SCSI + 6,4 Hb IDE UDMA HD’s, Matrox Millenium II AGP 8 Mb VRAM, 32x CD-ROM Drive, 2x6x CD-RW Drive, 3,5’’ FD, 3Com Ethernet 100/10Base TX Plate, 100 Mb ZIP Drive, 24’’ SONY Multiscan W900 Monitor, OS Solaris 2.6 Intel Platform Edition;

(3) PC Intel Pentium II, 300 MHz, 256 MB RAM, two 6,4 Hb IDE UDMA HD’s, Matrox Millenium II AGP 4 Mb VRAM, 24x CD-ROM Drive, LS-120, 3Com Ethernet 100/10Base TX Plate, 21’’ ViewSonic P 815 Monitor, OS Solaris 2.6 Intel Platform Edition (or LINUX Red Hat 5.0).

Moreover we have two equipment for reader of graphical information:

(1) Oce 4715 A0 Monochrome Scanner 25…400 dpi;
(2) Scanner A4 Microtek Scanmaker E6, 600 optical dpi, 30 bit resolution;

three equipment for printer of graphical information:

(1) Oce 5120 A0 Color Ink Jet Plotter 360/720 dpi;
(2) Color Ink Jet Printer A2-A4 Epson Stylus Color 3000, 360/720 /1440 dpi;
(3) Laser Printer A4 Lexmark Optra S 1250, 600/1200 dpi;
and equipment for network connection: Modem Zyxel OMNY 288S.

Appointed equipment is available not only for digitizing of photographic seismic records but for wide spectrum of work by processing and interpretation of geophysical investigations diverse data. We have the necessary materials for Office and intend to purchase Cartridges for Printers Lexmark Optra S 1250 and Epson Stylus Color 3000 and paper for printers (total about 650 USD) using the rest of cost and money from final payment from INTAS.

I together other participants of the IA-96-03 received Individual Grant (for 7 months from 12):
