INTAS-IA-96-03 : purchased A0  OCÉ-4715 Scanner
(from Ocè Web-information)

The three A0/E scanners in the 4700 Series are based on advanced optical and mechanical technology. They're ideal for the input of documents into digital archiving systems or raster editing packages and for the conversion of paper drawings into CAD formats with raster overlay programs or raster-to-vector conversion packages.

Océ 4715

The 400 dots per inch (dpi) 4715 model is the choice for simple drawings - like those found in mechanical CAD and facilities management.

  Océ 4730

The 800 dpi 4730 offers both quality and speed. This makes it ideal for service bureaus, AEC and GIS applications, or for quickly scanning drawings into archiving systems.

  Océ 4740

The 1200 dpi 4740 has the power needed to resolve very fine details in dense, complex drawings - perfect for GIS, seismography, mapping and cartography applications.

Outstanding quality and productivity
All four models feature high accuracy and exceptional speed, enhancing throughput with a high performance digital signal processor (DSP). The Océ 4715 or Océ 4730 will scan an A0/E drawing at 400 dpi in just 15 seconds - the fastest scanning speed available today.

The DSP automatically adapts to inconsistencies between different parts of a document by calculating a local threshold level for every point in real time - ensuring perfect output even for old diazo, yellowing or stained drawings.

The scanners will also pre-process images automatically 'on the fly' - saving time and increasing image quality. They can remove speckles to clean up an image or automatically check for misaligned documents and deskew them - eliminating the need for further labour-intensive image processing work and making it easy to generate high quality scanned files that are ready for use immediately.

User friendliness and compatibility
The scanners connect to computers through the platform independent SCSI-2 interface. And their support for over 50 file formats guarantees compatibility with virtually any application. Océ's powerful scanning software is available for PC & PS/2 (Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95 and NT), Sun, HP, SGI and IBM RS 6000 platforms. It is packed with advanced features and very easy to use - offering image manipulations like rotation, mirroring, negative image and line enhancement.

The Océ 4700 scanners fit into any office environment. Their attractive ergonomic design features a collection basket, automatic document loading and castors for easy relocation.

The scanners automate the production of high quality scanned images. Their reliability and Océ's on the spot service and support assure uninterrupted productivity - making them the ideal solution whatever your application.
