MOSCOW map and Intas involved Partners...
  1.  SPETSGEOFIZIKA Offices: here is the new EDP financed with Intas funds. Considering the actual Russian situation, the efforts of the Institute to complete the maintenance works for all the offices are really remarkable.
  2. This 'Stalin-style' hotel was our home, for a ten days.... After our experience, we can say that our stay in Leningradskaya was very pleasant: prices, service and room's comfort were appropriate, and certainly we can suggest it to other Western incoming people, both for work or for tourism. But ....
  3. GEON Centre has been a great discovery, at least for those (Milan and Kiev) who didn't knew before.
  4. SYNAPSE Scientific Centre (SSC) was already known, even if only by ...Internet ! This Company has a long and successful link with Western Institution, and it is the Russian mirror-site for IRIS seismological Consortium. Also in this case we saw a sharp contrast between the bleak building and the richness of its content (in terms of problem solving skills).
  5. ROY International Consultancy inc.: due to our many other interests, we didn't go to visit this very big computer shop.
  6. This is the Sverdlovskoe Bank, one of the Mosbusinessbank branch with which Intas has entered into agreement in Moscow region. And here the first payment for our Project came from the General Bank (68,000 ECU). But, due to internal financial rules the direct payment to Roy, in Moscow, was not possible, also because of the foreign accounting site of the Roy company (California, USA). So, most of them (61,000 ECU, the amount of the signed Contract from Spetsgeofizika and Roy-Moscow) came back to Brussels, and then transmitted to the Californian Bank for the Moscow-Roy payment. Only after this new 'global' capitals transaction, the Moscow-branch of Roy provided all the instrumentation, which were then installed, tested and verified at Spetsgeofizika's Offices in July 1998, as described in this Internet-periodic Report.
